Your ad forced me to look at and examine myself.
Several months ago, I interviewed a man, who had answered our advertisement for WZA Inc. associates. He created a good perception on the phone when asking for the appointment. At that time he told me that our advertisement was "Unique and well written. The request for my five proudest accomplishments really drew my attention."
During the interview I explained how The Perception Of A Difference Methodology Is implemented. He listened and wrote notes. At the time that I was ready to ask for his comments, I was interrupted with a call that I felt I had to take at that time. I asked him to excuse me while I did so and went into another office to take the call. It took longer than I expected and when I returned I found him bent forward in the chair holding his head in his hands.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, I have been giving a lot of thought to what you have told me. Your ad forced me to look at and examine myself, instead of WZA. I had to decide what I wanted to do and if I was as good as I think I am. I was fascinated that you could do that in a 40 line professional help wanted advertisement. It's never happened to me before.
"The company I now work for and all the other competing consultants I've talked to, concentrate on fixing or improving the tools, the mechanical things, in the hope that the worker will do a better job. You concentrate on the attitudinal, the worker's head, morale, attitude, enthusiasm, so the worker helps design the tools or changes in them if they are needed. That's different and it's the right way because the worker is the key to the clients success."
We talked some more and he left the appointment not certain that he wanted to be a consultant with any firm. He later wrote to thank me and say that thinking about his five proudest accomplishments and our time together had changed the course of his life.
" " " " "
Many wonderful things are happening in the lives of others as a result of The Perception Of A Difference methodology. As a result I have decided to share with you, in Blogs, the story of how it all began and the results it has produced for our clients. You will not be able to identify a company or people: the names will be those of our pets, children, grandchildren and the rest of our family. They will all be true stories.
I invite you enjoy them, comment and ask questions about them.
